Frequently Asked Mobile Banking Questions


Is there a fee for Mobile Banking?

No, Mobile Banking is a free Banterra service. You are responsible for web access and/or data or text message charges that may be billed by your mobile carrier.

How do I register for Mobile Banking?
You must be registered for Online Banking to access account information using the Mobile Banking Browser feature. You may register for the SMS (Text) feature of Mobile Banking at your local Banterra Bank or you may submit the SMS (Text) Mobile Banking Registration Form behind Online Banking located under Secure Forms.
 
Can I transfer using Mobile Banking?
Yes. You must have transfer capabilities set up. The transfer function allows customers to transfer between Banterra accounts. To set up transfers capabilities set up, you must submit and Online Banking Add/Delete Form. You may complete this form behind Online Banking located under Secure Forms. Transfer capabilities are given with the approval of an Online Banking registration form or an Add/Delete form.
 
Can I pay bills using Mobile Banking?
The Bill Payment function allows you to submit payments to payees already set-up within the Bill Pay module of Online Banking. New payees cannot be set-up using Mobile Banking.
 
Can I view account transactions using Mobile Banking?
Account information including transaction history is available on the accounts available within your Online Banking access. We may change the length of time that transaction history is available without prior notice.  Transaction history on Mobile Banking does not replace the periodic statements for your Account.
 
Can I use the same alias (nickname) for all of my accounts?
Do not use the same alias used for any other Mobile Banking service at Banterra or any other financial institution to ensure correct account information is returned as requested.
 
How many accounts can I access using Mobile Banking?
You may access the same accounts you have access to through Online Banking. You must register to have access to accounts using the Mobile Banking SMS (Text) feature.
 
How many mobile phone numbers can I use with the Mobile Banking SMS (Text) feature?
Each user is only allowed to register one Mobile Phone number.
 
Can I use a text signature stored on my mobile device when using the Mobile Banking SMS (Text) feature?
A text messaging signature stored on your mobile device cannot be used in the text message when using the commands above. The system reads the signature as an alias and you will not receive the information requested.
 
What if my password doesn't work?
Call Customer Support toll-free at 877-541-2265, option 6 or Click on “Contact Us” link in the upper right hand corner of the Banterra Bank home page and sendus an email with the following information: Your name, mother's maiden name, and the exact amount of your last deposit. We will email you when we have reset your password. If you forget your password or become locked out and Banterra resets your password, you will be required to re-establish your login credentials at a PC to regain access to Mobile Banking.
 
How can I add/delete an account?
Submit a Mobile Banking Add/Delete/Change Form. You may complete this form at any Banterra Bank location or behind Online Banking; under Secure Forms.
 
How do I change my registered mobile phone number?
Submit a Mobile Banking Add/Delete/Change Form. You may complete this form at any Banterra Bank location or behind Online Banking; under Secure Forms.
 
How do cancel Mobile Banking? 
You may cancel Mobile Banking at any time by contacting us by email or phone.
  • To send an email, click on Support from the Navigation bar. When the pop up window appears, click on the link that says “Click here to send an email”, complete the required fields, include your request to cancel Mobile Banking and your account number(s) and click send. 
  • To contact us by phone, call during regular business hours of 6:30am - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday at 877-541-2265 and select Option 6. Your request to cancel Mobile Banking will not result in any charges or fees to your account.
